A Day Without Social Media

I recently completed my day without social media. However, it wasn't exactly by choice. My iPhone for some reason wouldn't turn on one morning and I did everything to try to get it to turn on and had no luck. I had work at 8AM that morning and then class the rest of the day after work so I was on campus all day. I decided to leave my phone at home. I didn't see any point caring around a phone that wouldn't even turn on. So my day without social media turned into a day without a phone at all. I had a rough time adjusting to not having a phone. It made me realize how much I depend on my phone for lots of different things throughout the day. I email a lot on my phone for work and not having that was an issue, also not being able to text was a killer for me. Going without social media was pretty simple for me. I do look at it to kill time but it is something  I can easily cut out of my life. Not having any communication via phone from 8am  to 6:15pm (the time I'm on campus) was very hard for me. I text and receive a lot of text through the day and not having that there to fill my time, make plans, or chitchat with people was difficult. It made me really realize how much text and create conversation with technology rather than with the people I'm surrounded with all day.
