Chapter 9 of The Social Organization is about redirecting collaboration when it gets away from you. I feel that this is very transferable to other aspects in life. People need to spend the time to redirect something into the way you were originally going instead of just abandoning it completely. For example, if you do poorly on a test, just absolutely bomb it, there are two reactions that people have:
1. To sit back and search for pity about doing so poorly, and complaining about how life is, or
2. Move forward and start preparing for the next exam, you can always do better next time and there is no point in wasting time dwelling on the past.
This was a little off topic, but I feel the chapter is helping engrave moving forward instead of giving up in readers minds.
