Chapters 7 and 8 The Social Organization

Chapters 7 and 8 in The Social Organization hit on the impacts of social media on shopping. How shoppers will take pictures and send them to friends on which outfit to buy. There is another aspect that hurts businesses where shoppers will test products out in the stores to see which one they like the most, then go online (usually Amazon) and purchase there; this happens most with electronics, specifically Best Buy. Moving forward is a difficult task in today's social society because there will always be customers who prefer to purchase in-store, even though many customers are switching to online buyers. What makes this difficult is that businesses need to learn how to satisfy both online and in-store customers without stretching their resources too thin and collapsing on themselves.
